Adding on to the previous post...

In less than two hours, the jury came back with a guilty verdict for Joseph P. Smith in the murder of 11 year old Carlie Brucia. If there is an afterlife, I hope this bastard gets what he deserves.

Correction: It was FIVE hours of deliberation. My bad.

Something Interesting

In the trial of Joseph P. Smith, accused of raping and murdering 11 year old Carlie Brucia, the defense pulled a surprise move and declined to make a closing argument. A sign of defeat? Possibly. The prosecution has videotape of Smith abducting Carlie, DNA evidence, and a confession to the crimes from Smith himself. Not to mention, Smith told his brother where to find the body of the poor child...but he didn't DO it. Come on. I understand that you have to defend yourself but, goddamn. This is a capital murder trial and Smith could, and probably will, get the death penalty. What is the point of declining to make a closing? Are they trying to guarantee an appeal? I was under the impression that ALL death penalty convictions have an automatic appeal. Maybe, but this is in Floriduh. <--- Intentional mistype.

Personally, I don't see how anyone can think that Smith did NOT commit these crimes. And I hope that he is given the death penalty. I just wish that it didn't take as long to get these evil people on the gurney, so the taxpayers don't have to continue to foot the bill for them. And I wish that the punishment truly fit the crime. Carlie was brutally raped and murdered. Smith will simply "go to sleep". No pain, no suffering. Nothing like what Carlie had to endure, or what her family is still enduring. Am I being too hard on him? I don't think so. An eye for an eye, right? I don't think any punishment is too severe for someone that murders a defensless child. Floriduh had better come through on this one. Its unsurmountable evidence.

My Ten Favorite Movie Villians

I've never known why, but I've usually found myself rooting for the 'bad guy' in movies. Maybe its because I'm usually looked at as the bad guy, or maybe its something darker than that. Who knows. So, here goes, Matt's Top Ten Movie Villians. My list, my opinion, deal.

10. Norman Bates - How can this "Psycho" NOT be on the list? Please.
9. Darth Vader - The first time you saw this movie when you were a kid, tell me that Vader wasn't intimidating...and then I'll call you a liar.
8. Leatherface - The original, not the idiot in the remake. Gunnar Hansen was a baaaad man.
7. Col. William Tavington - Most of you might not know who this is. He was the character played by Jason Isaacs in The Patriot. He is just so much of a dick, that I found myself laughing at his 'evilness'. Great character.
6. Bricktop - Do you know what nemesis means?
5. Bad Ash - From Army of Darkness played by Bruce Campbell. Absolutely hilarious.
4. The Devil - Al Pacino in The Devil's Advocate. "The devil's greatest trick was convincing the world he didn't exist". Simply awesome.
3. Agent Smith - I will never be able to see Keanu Reeves again without thinking of Hugo Weaving's voice saying, "Mr. Anderson..."
2. Keyser Soze - Kevin Spacey sure did mess with Chazz Palminteri, didn't he?
1. Hannibal Lecter - How can it be anyone BUT him? The man is a genius, he's classy, and yet, he eats people. What's not to love?!

Maybe I'll do some other lists eventually. Adios muchachos!

Random Musings

I've got alot of things to bitch about today, so I'm probably going to be all over the place with this post today.

Checking the headlines...

Terrell Owens has been suspended from the Philidelphia Eagles...well no shit. What took them so long? T.O. may be a great player, but is he truly worth the trouble? One year into a seven year contract, he demands that his contract be renegotiated. Now, if he had a bad season, could the team demand to renegotiate his contract to pay him LESS money? Of course not. I don't understand the logic in this. Not to mention the fact that the man is a serious detriment to team morale. He gets into a fistfight with a retired former Eagle, constantly bad mouths everyone on his team, especially, the man that is supposed to be throwing the ball to him. I like what the Eagles have done here. Fuck him.

A couple of Carolina Panther cheerleaders were busted having sex with eachother in a bathroom at a bar and then getting into a fight. Why the hell is this news?

Tom Cruise has fired his sister who had been his publicist for not protecting him from negative press. Here's a clue, Tom, QUIT ACTING LIKE A FUCKING PSYCHO!!!

Here's a question, why is Paris Hilton so popular? And why is Tara Reid's train wreck life news? Gee, a celebrity fucking up, alert the press! C'mon. Aren't there more important things to be reporting?

Paris has been rioting for 12 days now...and they just NOW declared martial law. Umm...dumbasses? Does anyone know what they are even rioting about? I've read about a dozen articles on it and I can't figure it out. Maybe they're finally pissed about "Freedom Fries".

My car didn't make the Top Ten Most Stolen Cars list...phew. There's a load off my mind.

Anyone ever see the movie Troy with Brad Pitt and Eric Bana? Another question. When did the Irish become similar to the Greeks? Sean Bean? Brendan Gleeson? Bana is Australian, I believe. G'day Achilles. Wanna tawss back a few lagers?

I've discovered that shooting pool is not like riding a bike. I remember everything that I'm supposed to do, I just can't do it. This sucks, I used to be pretty good.

That's all for now...ta!
